New York Knicks point guard and NBA journeyman Jason Kidd has decided to hang up the sneakers after 19 seasons of professional basketball.
Kidd, who played college ball for the California Golden Bears, was drafted in ’94 by the Dallas Mavericks. He played there (as part of the entertaining “Three J’s” with Jamal Mashburn and Jim Jackson) for the first three seasons of his career. He moved on to play with the Phoenix Suns and New Jersey Nets (for five and nearly seven seasons respectively) before rejoining the Mavericks (via trade) in January of 2008.
His final run with the Mavericks included their 2011 NBA title, giving him his only championship ring. He signed with the New York Knicks for the 2012-13 season in hopes of getting a chance at one more title.
After nearly two decades in the league, he has had a profound impact on the everyone around, teammate or opponent.
